NRFA ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR DISTRICT FOOTBALL COMMITEE ELECTIONS

The Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) has announced that it will consult the constitutions of district football committees before arranging district football committee elections in the northern region.

The last such elections were held in 2017. NRFA Chairperson Masiya Nyasulu made this announcement on Monday after the Nkhata Bay Under-21 FAM Cup final at Mkondezi Ground.

Nyasulu emphasized that the association wants to avoid rushing the process, especially having just concluded the NRFA elections. He also stated that they aim to prevent any perception of interference.

Sports analyst Paly Chinyama has welcomed the decision to consult the district constitutions, saying it could help prevent anomalies during the election process. However, he advised the association to act swiftly, noting that it has been a long time since such elections were held.

In recent weeks, the Central Region Football Association has been conducting elections in its member district football committees.
